The boys and I have been down visiting "ama" & "papa" this past week (until I'm not sure when). (I'm so happy that Brock joined us today!) I'm not able to upload photos of our recent activities but we've been having a great time. Lots of time spent outside enjoying farm life. It is so great for me to be able to share so much of who I am with my boys. We also had a great 4th of July helping John and Angie lay sod around their new home. It looks beautiful!
On a not so happy note, my dad's bountiful wheat and hay crop(one he says only comes around once in 30 years) was destroyed by a severe hail storm last Thursday afternoon. He says that he is anticipating a 80% loss at least. It breaks my heart to see the hardest working man I know loose everything despite his meticulous, dedicated, and best intentioned efforts. Please pray for my parents spirits. (But don't call...they are burnt out of retelling the story.)

We can understand how your parents feel. This afternoon we got pounded again. The "Romsa River" was swiftly flowing across the highway 5 hours after the storm. Grandpa said he has never seen it that deep. Once again we'll need the services of the insurance adjuster...at the ends of the field the hail was piled 2ft. deep. For nine years we couldn't squeeze a drop of rain out of the clouds.
Sigh, what heartache for your parents and all of the farmers in that neck of the woods... and true empathy for those of us that can relate to such misery and frustration!!! So sorry...
Can't wait for you guys to get 'home'!! We miss you!
