Growling

It's been a while since I posted a video. This is Caden's latest. He is quite the growler!

One of my favorite phases.

Finding your feet is so much fun!
Growing up so fast...
To me it seemed like Carson found his feet and then was on them in no time.
Must cherish every baby moment!

Caden...5 months old

As of this past Monday, September 21st, our baby Cade was 5 months old. He is such a bright spot in our life. He continues to develop into a very spirited and active boy. He is getting quite good at sitting up with just a little help now and loves to stand in his Exersaucer. We are also cherishing our last few days of nice weather and spending lots of time outside, which we all love! He loves to giggle at his brother and thinks the wilder the better! (Imagine when they are 16 and 17!) He is beginning to teeth and loves to chew and drool on everything. He is also quite attached to his mama (which she loves). He does spit up quite a lot, which is kind of a bummer. We continue to 'practice' sleeping through the night and doesn't do bad as long as mom is close by to reinsert the pacifier occasionally. As his granny says, he is extremely "happy go lucky" and goes days without crying. Oh, and instead of crying his growls for attention or if he needs something. heehee
I actually like tummy time!
Carson and Jordan love telling him "aboo"...and he gets so excited.
It is so fun to see them interact.

The biggest smile that he can muster.

Aren't I cute!?!?! And I roll over.

Entertained by the ceiling fan and yes, I often need a Kleenex.
(But I hate it when my mom goes after my nose!)

Praying

Today at lunch Carson stopped mid meal, closed his eyes, folded his hands and started to pray. Brock appologized to him that we forgot to pray before we started eating, and asked him who he wanted to pray for. He replied, "Ama, papa, ama, papa, papa, papa, John". Amen

Brotherly love...

Carson 21 months enjoying an "onut".

Caden Scott will be 5 months old on the 21st.

Carson says, "mama, Cade hosie?!?!"

These two are quite taken with each other.
Such a fun phase!

Brock goes under the knife.

Brock had his knee scoped last Wednesday. It was supposed to be a minor ordeal, but has since turned to be more involved. They repaired his meniscus, removed floating cartilage, drilled holes in the bone to stimulate new cartilage growth, and smoothed off bones spurs from a broken piece on his knee cap. The biggest bummer is that he is not to put any weight on his knee for 5 more weeks, which puts quite the damper on hunting season this year and his ability to be a helping daddy. He is planning to return to work tomorrow. The knee...only three small incisions. He has done a great job of keeping it elevated so the swelling has been minimal.
The boys do a great job of keeping their dad company.
Snuggling before bed time.

Caden's favorite new napping spot.

It has been nice for me too, to have some adult company during the day,
however I can't wait until he is able again. This makes me have a new appreciation for single parents. At least, I still have the emotional support.

A bit of randomness...

On Labor Day, we took a small trip to the hot springs in Thermop. Danielle and Susan joined us and Amy & Addie met us for a picnic lunch. We had a great time, except for that mom and Carson came down with colds. Cade even enjoyed the warm water.

Our doggie for a day.

On Monday evening we were on our front porch enjoying the weather, when this beautiful yellow lab stumbled upon us. He was quite timid at first, didn't have a collar, and was completely lost. So after a few treats and an hour of playing fetch he became our friend.

Carson and Brock became quite attached...
as the pup showed great manners and quite a lot of training.
He was very sweet and great with kids.
Brock also reported that we had found him to the radio station and no one has called...
However, on Tuesday afternoon, he escaped through the open garage door after many walks (without a leash) that day...and never to be found despite Brock and Carson's persevering search efforts. So, we are going to visit the pound tonight.

If you have seen "our" dog, please call! ;)
