He's my Dancing King

Carson has turned in to the best dancer! However, he is very modest about it and it quite difficult to capture on film. I just recently watched, what I will crown as my new favorite film, Mama Mia and couldn't help but make the connection.

Kisling Christmas 2008

December 18th we headed south to watch the Bills vs. the Broncos at Invesco Field at Mile High. Of course I forgot my camera...grrrrr!!! We had a great time and the Bills were victorious! We then headed home (to Riverton) and spent Christmas with the Kislings. We are headed back to Chug this next week for one more visit and to spend time with the Wendlings. So yes, we've kept our schedule packed.

Christmas Eve at our house.

The Christmas cookie monster!

Opening presents with dad.

A Tonka dump truck from Mom & Dad.

"Ooohhh" cool!

All dressed up for the Christmas Eve service.

(He was too tired and ended up staying home with dad and grandpa and going to bed.
Suz and I went though.)

(Darling Baby Gap duds, courtesy of John and Ang.)

I just wanted one family picture in front of the tree.

Yes, Brock, this is fun!!!

Now, everyone look at grandma!

Grandpa & Grandma wanted one too...yea right!

LOL!!!! Worth a try, I guess! :)

Christmas morning at Bud and Susan's.

(Aunt Amy & Maddy)

Carson was quite taken with Maddy.
(Thanks Ang & John for the awesome Bills outfit also!)

Carson got the neatest double seater "little red wagon" w/ cup holders from Bud & Susan and Matt & Amy. We are already excited for spring. Brock said that he will rig something up to strap the little brother in. We may be quite the sight!

Carson with his Grandma Susan.

(At least he gave himself a fresh bruise for Christmas morning on our D#&M tile floor.)

Christmas really wasn't Carson's idea of a good time this year. He still was more interested with the treasures in his diaper bag.

We hope that you all had a very blessed holiday too.

Happy New Year!

Christmas Letter 2008

Dear Family and Friends,

We hope that you are all doing well and have had a great 2008. Not a lot has changed in our household since our card last Christmas, except we have all grown in one way or another. Carson recently turned 1 on the 3rd of December and is quite a vivacious, spirited, “boundary-testing” little boy. He loves life, especially now that he is on the run. What a blessing he has been. And…we are expecting his little brother to arrive on April 20th.

Brock and Aftann are still teaching at Arapahoe School. (Brock teaching MS math and Aftann teaching MS reading.) Aftann has been truly blessed by her 9-2 work schedule. Brock is also coaching the cross-country, wrestling and track teams.

Our families are doing well. Brock’s sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Matt Mason, are expecting their first baby in June. Aftann’s sister, Angie, and John Wendling were married last July and are living in Buffalo ,NY. Brock’s grandparents, Wilma and Scott Kisling, celebrated 60 years of marriage last September.

We pray for blessings on your Christmas holiday and upcoming new year.

With Love,
The Kislings

Christmas Cookies

I finished frosting my cookies while Carson was napping. When we woke up, we went an ran an errand. After we got back home, he marched into the kitchen and in a drive-by like action, swiped a cookie off the table and gobbled it down as quickly as he possibly could.

Some New Pics...

Carson hanging out with Grandma Diane. She stayed with us for a few days while attending a workshop in Lander.

Carson's totally cool toy from Uncle John and Aunt Angie!
See Ang, he loves it!

Carson's Birthday Bash

On Saturday, we celebrated Carson's first birthday will all of his grandparents. (Except for Dale & Allison Adams, who were home with the flu.) For a guy who was not sure of what was even happening, we decided family was enough commotion. Carson liked his gifts, but he mostly relished in the eight pairs of eyes who were constantly on him.

Grandma Diane let him open one early...books, books and more books!!!

The gathering. (*We missed the aunts and uncles!)

Doing his best at opening gifts...
(Mom ended up having to open most of them.)

Help from great-grandpa Scott.

Pure concentration!

Time for cake...peek-a-boo with Daddy first.

Say cheese!
Everyone trying for the award winning shot of Mr. Cool.

Mmmmm...Grandma Suz made the cake.

The Cool-whip frosting was a big hit!

Our happy family...it won't be three for long.
(We find out what we're having on Wednesday!)

Our Baby is 1 Today!

Even though his party is on Saturday, we practiced the finer art of gift opening today (on his real day). What a blessing he is!

Half Way!

I'm 20 weeks along, yay, which means half way! Whom ever it was that said pregnancy only lasts 9 months is full of it! We also realized that this baby didn't have a 'belly blog'. We will assure it, that it isn't loved any less. However, pregnancy itself seemed to be more of a thrill the first time. We are thankful that everything is going well, despite lower back pain and trying to find pants that fit. Our ultrasound will be on the 10th, so we are eagerly awaiting that. We plan to keep it a surprise until Christmas, so be awaiting a special post. I will try to add an updated photo every month or so...20 weeks
It has only taken a fraction of the time to start showing, as compared to last pregnancy.
Bare belly, complete with my Carson souvenirs (a.k.a. stretch marks).

New York

I had the best time on my trip and Brock did an outstanding job being super-dad while I was away!

We enjoyed ourselves at Panera Bread (a few times!)
Getting drenched at Niagara Falls.
Angie is all about NY fashion! :)
The roar of the water was amazing.
The Muslim and the Eskimo
On Saturday we went to dinner with Paul Pusluzney (sp?) and his girlfriend, Beth, to a great steak restaurant. We then went to see Alan Jackson in concert. We got to sit in the Bill's box, but we agreed that country music is best in the Wyoming air at dusk.
And who knew we'd get to sit by a real, live cowboy!
On Sunday, Angie and I went to watch the Bill's walk through. I was so impressed with how the team tries to accommodate and involve the families.

At the indoor practice facility.

Our favorite is #29!!!
Ang and I also got in a few quality hours of shopping on Sunday before having a fabulous dinner at a small restaurant, The Left Bank, in downtown Buffalo. She had to get reservations a week in advance. We now understand why!

A little "Rock Band" on Wii to get John in the Monday Night Football frame of mind.
(I'm terrible!)
Bills vs. Brown
from a suite!
It was quite cold and windy, so we were very thankful to be invited in to the box suite owned by several other Bill's wives. We had a great time, even though the outcome of the game was not quite what we had hoped. John played well!
Thanks again, Angie and John! I had a wonderful time. Your hospitality was second to none. After I got home, I realized I did a poor job of taking pictures to truly depict all of our fun, but I guess that must have meant that I was focused more on my company than my camera. My times with my sister rank as some of my most precious moments. Can't wait until we get to be with you both again! xoxo
