A little old & A little new

I try and write reflective posts every now and again (which really seems to be about every 6 to 8 months if I am lucky) but it is time for a new season in the Kisling household.  As of today we have one week of summer vacation left and although we love teaching we are holding on to the last few minutes of summer as we feel they are leaving us at a faster rate than we can appreciate them.  All in all, it's really just the change that we dread.

Brock is returning to Arapahoe for year six--a feat within itself.  We pray for patience, open-mindedness and perseverance. He genuinely looks forward to the many coaching opportunities and chances to connect with his students through athletics.  (It must be working, as he was tackled at the county fair by his students. ha!)   It seems like every other year I'm writing about my new job(s) and it may seem to some that I am either run off or continually like change, but I assure you that God just seems to open doors to artfully accommodate a great balance between me being a mom and professional; both of which are my life's passions. I will be starting a .8 "reading specialist" position in Shoshoni which translates into getting to teach a few hours of second grade, working with intervention students in grades K-6, curriculum implementation and anything else that may come my way.  And did I mention I get Fridays off!?!  :)  Although, I thoroughly enjoyed my years on the reservation I cannot begin to explain how excited I am to become a part of a progressive, forward thinking school district.  Carson will be attending preschool in Shoshoni three mornings per week, of which is is esthetic about. And we are blessed with the best childcare situation again, one day per week with Grandma Allison and three days with a wonderful lady in Shoshoni.

We wish there were more carefree summer days, but there is something to be said for a routine.  If you should travel our way please stop for dinner or even the night.  We have lots of room!

Blessings to you all~

6 (and 4) years and many more to come!

Each year for our anniversary, we take a little get away--all by ourselves.

This year, Angie and John came with us.  (Our anniversaries are 4 days apart.)
We enjoyed a fun 36 hours in Cody, WY golfing, eating and seeing a rodeo.

Sweet, Sweet Summer Time...

I notice that it has been since December that I made a post, so here are a few of our happenings this summer.  It is hard to believe that in three weeks we will be back to school.  I think that is a reason we love summer so much because it is a defined amount of time, which makes us appreciate every moment.

Our guys won the Jim Fike Memorial Golf tourney (their yearly male bonding event)

I feel silly admitting this, but I love my plants nearly as much as my children.  I'm in heaven with space to grow things.
Instead of a family vacation, we bought a small above ground pool and the entire family has enjoyed endless splashes. (w. cousin Addison)

There is a whisky barrel under there, I thought I'd let you know. ;)
